Cauliflower (Gobi) Manchuria


Cauliflower – 1 medium sized cut into florets

Pepper – 1/4 th tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp

Cornflour- 2 tsps

All purpose flour – 2 tsps

Oil – 3 TBSP for pan fry

Garlic – 4-5 cloves finely minced

Ginger – 1 inch finely minced

Green chilli – 2-3 finely chopped

Onions – 1/2 medium sized chopped

Red food color – 2 or 3 pinches

Soya sauce – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – 8-10

Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Water – 3 tsps

Spring onion – 1-2

Salt to taste

Serves 5-7


  • Boil cauliflower florets water for 2-3 minutes
  • Drain all the water and add salt, pepper, ginger garlic paste, cornflour n all purpose flour just to coat the florets
  • Rest them aside for 15 mins
  • Pan fry them in batches till they are light brown in color
  • Remove the excess oil  & just leave a tablespoon of oil in the pan
  • Add garlic, ginger, green chili & onions. Allow them to cook for 30 secs
  • Add food color, curry leaves, soya sauce and water
  • Cook for another 30 secs and add the cauliflower florets
  • Cook until all the florets are coated well
  •  Add chilli powder if you want it spicy
  • Garish with spring onion.
